Kompass in Ecuador and Colombia: Networking far beyond the borders of Frankfurt

Kompass Frankfurt is active internationally and maintains networks in many countries. Adriana Castillo recently visited Ecuador and Colombia to strengthen ties with local institutions, start-ups and start-up centers. As part of the “Business Ideas for Development” (GfE) project, the Kompass consultant was a guest at various events, meetings and congresses together with colleagues from the Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). “It’s impressive how innovative the ecosystem in Ecuador and Colombia is,” says Adriana Castillo, looking back. “I got to know many exciting concepts and took away great ideas that are very promising for these regions of Latin America.”

Innovative business ideas for sustainable success

In both countries, the Kompass consultant attends networking events, meets local entrepreneurs, organizations and local institutions, all of which support innovative business ideas and tailor-made, adaptable solutions designed to turn ideas into sustainable success. “The meetings and exchanges with local institutions enrich our work at Kompass enormously, as we learn from each other and jointly develop strategies and measures to further support founders and entrepreneurs from these countries,” explains Adriana Castillo.

Tailor-made support for market entry in Germany

The work of Kompass Frankfurt and its intercultural teams focuses on supporting start-ups and entrepreneurs who want to expand to Germany or set up a business here. “We offer tailored support when it comes to entering the German market and provide professional guidance on the path to a successful business,” explains Ellen Bommersheim. People with a history of migration who currently live in Germany, have an innovative business idea and want to implement it in their home countries can also find a competent point of contact at Kompass. “The cultural differences, the bureaucratic requirements and ultimately the language barriers can often slow down motivated founders,” explains Adriana Castillo. “This is where we can provide targeted support with our many years of expertise and experience. In order to be able to take a holistic approach here, these trips are important in order to be in direct contact with the partners and get to know the circumstances and cultures.”
