The startup WildyNess, which was supported by Kompass as part of the “Business Ideas for Development” project, has been nominated for the Global Startup Awards in the “Startup of the Year” category for North Africa.
The Global Startup Awards is the largest independent startup ecosystem competition with the mission to identify, recognize and connect the future shapers of the digital age from around the world. The Global Startup Awards connects 123 countries on four continents. The global Grand Finale is the culmination of all regional competitions and will take place in Istanbul this year. The Kompass team is keeping its fingers crossed for WildyNess on its way there.
WildyNess has been nominated for its unique concept. The startup coordinates travel activities that enable travelers to experience Tunisia up close and from a local, authentic perspective by involving local people. “We believe that travel has the power to change lives. Our experiences enable meaningful interactions between travelers and locals to foster empathy. Travelers are inspired, locals are empowered and their projects receive unique economic support that is critical to their success,” says Rym Bourguiva, co-founder of WildyNess, describing the vision of the business.
The “Business ideas for development” project, in which Kompass supported the start-up team, helps people with a history of migration in Germany to set up and develop a business in their country of origin. Thanks to know-how from Germany, founders are using their innovative and development-relevant ideas to advance their country and create jobs. The selected founders are supported by “Business Ideas for Development” both in Germany and in their country of origin. Kompass Frankfurt has already successfully implemented several projects and is delighted to receive support from the community for WildyNess as part of the Global Startup Awards.
